In a world of complexity, I am the Gatherer, a relentless seeker of nature's treasures. My mission is to cultivate Simples, these pure botanical ingredients that hold transformative powers for both people and the planet.
In ancient times, Gatherers like me collected these botanical wonders known as Simples for their remarkable medicinal prowess. Today, I carry forward this legacy for you, someone I consider a fellow Gatherer, an integral part of our collective adventure together.
At Pilot Farm, our Earth-friendly methods rejuvenate the land while nurturing these botanicals, ensuring they thrive. We shun chemicals, relying on cover crops and beneficial plants to enrich the soil, erasing the need for harmful pesticides.
Our plants bask in the high-altitude sun, reaching their fullest potential, powered by the Earth's energy. Passionate farmers, like me, are the alchemists who transform this potential into greatness, rejuvenating the land and livelihoods in the process.
But it's the Simples, these botanical treasures, that lie at the heart of our offerings. They possess the incredible power to bring about a profound transformation in well-being.
Our plant medicine delivers deep healing simplicity. Our products radiate quality, transparency, and eco-friendliness, echoing the values we hold dear. Each offering is a source of boundless goodness, a catalyst for change, and an embodiment of what's right.
Since 2016, I've been cultivating these Simples on Pilot Farm's award-winning sun-kissed, high-elevation farm in Southern Oregon. Our journey celebrates simplicity, authenticity, and the profound interconnectedness of all living things.

What's in the names Pilot Farm & Gatherers of Simples?
Pilot Farm: When we began this project back in 2016, we were one of the first cannabis and hemp businesses to be rooted in sustainable farming methods. With an abundance of unknowns and experimentation, we simply considered it a pilot project - a pilot farm. This was also conveniently reinforced by our 80 acre mountain farm being located adjacent to Pilot Rock, a national landmark that rises above our sightline as a formidable guardian to our practices, with additional support by the adjacent otherworldly peaks of Mt Ashland and Mt Shasta. You can see the outline of Pilot Rock within the Peregrine falcon’s wing in our brand logo. Another fun fact is these Peregrine falcons nest on Pilot Rock.
Gatherers of Simples: Yes, a mouthful of syllables we do agree. When we were thinking of a name to represent our small batch handcrafted plant medicine products - we looked to the past, in the same light as how we ended up employing sustainable regenerative farming methods - we looked to the past. People of a bygone era who collected botanicals for medicinal purposes were known as Gatherers. And these pure plant-based inputs were known as Simples. Hence you get Gatherers of Simples. And not only do we consider us, the farmers and product makers as Gatherers, we consider you as well, the consumer, a Gatherer. Happy to have you with us.
